Request a New Number – Long Code

This article shows you how to request a new phone number to send messages from. Make sure to request a new number from the account with which the number will be used or its immediate parent. If the Request New Number button is unavailable, contact TrueDialog for assistance.

Your account will be charged for each new number. The Request new long code window will display the cost of a new number.

Request Number

  1. Click your Account Name in the upper right corner.
  2. In the dropdown, select Numbers.
    Navigate to Numbers Page
  3. Click Request New Number.
    Click Request New Number
  4. Click the Account dropdown and select the account requesting the new number.
  5. Click the Area Code dropdown and select the area code you want the new number to be in. Note: The Area Code dropdown is searchable by area code or state.

  6. Click Request. Please be aware that your account will be charged for the new number.

  7. After requesting the number, a request sent message will appear in the upper right corner.

Verify New Number Assignment

  1. To view the status of the request, click the Requested Numbers tab. Your request will be displayed at the top of the table. The new number can take up to 10 minutes to be assigned to your account.

    • If the status is Errored, check the Result column for the reason. The most common error can be resolved by selecting a different area code when requesting a number.

      numbers ordered is unavailable.

  2. Once the number is assigned to your account, you can view it by clicking the Current Numbers tab. Click the Refresh icon if necessary.
