This article will teach you how to use a Workflow to set the SMS Opted-out property for multiple contacts. The example in this guide shows you how to set the SMS Opted-out property to No if no value was set for the contact. This is useful if you have contacts created before installing the TrueDialog integration.

Create Blank Workflow

  1. From the left sidebar, expand Automations and click Workflows.
    Navigate to Workflows
  2. Click Create workflow, and in the dropdown, click From scratch.

  3. Select Contact-based workflow.
  4. Choose Blank workflow.
  5. Click Next.
    Select Blank workflow
  6. A blank workflow will be created.

Set Trigger

  1. Click Set up triggers for the Contact enrollment trigger.

  2. Click When filter criteria is met.

  3. Click Contact properties under the Object information section.

  4. Enter SMS opted in the search box.
  5. Click SMS Opted-out.

  6. Click the dropdown under the SMS Opted-out criteria.
  7. Click is unknown in the dropdown.

  8. Verify the trigger is for SMS Opted-out is unknown.
  9. Click Save.
    Click Save

Set Action

  1. Click the Plus icon below the Contact enrollment trigger.
    Click Add Action
  2. Enter set property in the search box on the Choose an action sidebar.

  3. Click Set property value under the CRM section.

  4. Click Choose a property.
    Click Choose a property
  5. Enter SMS opted in the search box in the Choose a property dropdown.
  6. Click SMS Opted-out.

  7. Click the SMS Opted-out dropdown and select No.
  8. Click Save.

Review and Turn On Workflow

  1. Review the workflow and verify that the following conditions are set:
    1. Trigger if SMS Opted-out is unknown.
    2. Set SMS Opted-out to No.
  2. Click the Pencil icon to set the name of the workflow.
  3. Click Review and publish.
    Click Review and publish
  4. Choose Yes to apply this workflow to all of your contacts.
  5. Click Skip to turn on. The rest of the review steps are unnecessary for this workflow and can be skipped.
    Select Yes
  6. Click Turn on workflow.
    Click Turn on workflow
  7. The workflow will now show that it is ON.

View Workflow Results

  1. Click the View menu dropdown.
  2. Click Enrollment history.
    Click Enrollment history
  3. View the history of the workflow.
  4. For this example, three contacts were enrolled in this workflow.
