The SMS Chat instructions throughout the documentation demonstrate sending messages to a Contact record, but these instructions also apply to Account and Lead records.

This article shows how to attach a file to send an MMS message using the SMS Chat on your record’s page. For instructions on using the other features of the SMS Chat, see the following article.

Files must be 2.5 MB or less in size. See the table below for the supported file types.

Some carriers are still limited to a maximum file size of 300kB. Sending files larger than 300kB is supported, but some contacts may not receive the file.

  1. Navigate to your Contacts page.
  2. Click the contact you wish to send a message.
    Select Contact
  3. Click the SMS Chat button from either the Ribbon or the right sidebar.
    Click SMS Chat
  4. Enter your message in the Message textbox.
    Enter Message
  5. Click the Image icon below the Message textbox.
    Click Image Icon
  6. Click Upload file. Max size 2.5 Mb (may vary per carrier).
    Click Upload File
  7. Use the Open file window to select the image to send.
  8. Click Open.
    Click Open
  9. Click Ok.

    To remove the image from the message, click the X to the right of the image file name or click Clean All below the image.

    Click Ok
  10. A thumbnail of your attached image is displayed below the Message textbox.
  11. Click the Send Message icon.
    Click Send
  12. Your sent message and attached image will appear in the message thread, and any replies will also be shown here.
