Creating an Opt-In Website Widget

This guide will show you how to create an Opt-In widget for your website. The widget allows users to submit their phone number to be opted into your subscription.

  1. Click Website Widget in the left sidebar.
    Navigate to Opt-In Widget Page
  2. Click Select a Channel and select the channel to use when opting in contacts with the widget.
  3. Click Select a Subscription and select the subscription to which new contacts will be subscribed.

  4. Select the source of the Terms & Conditions for the widget:
    • File – Click Upload Terms & Conditions and then Drag & Drop or Browse for the file.
    • URL – Click Url to Terms & Conditions and enter the URL in the textbox.
  5. Select the source of the Privacy Policy for the widget:
    • File – Click Upload Privacy Policy and then Drag & Drop or Browse for the file.
    • URL – Click Url to Privacy Policy and enter the URL in the textbox.

  6. Click Generate to create the widget.
  7. A preview of the widget will be displayed in the Preview section. Review it to ensure that everything is correct.

  8. Click Copy to clipboard to copy the code for the widget that you can insert into your website. Note: The widget is an HTML <iframe>.

  9. When a user enters their phone number and clicks Submit on the widget:
    1. The widget displays a Signed Up Successfully! notification.

    2. If the user has not already opted into the subscription:
      1. For Double Opt-In subscriptions, TrueDialog will send the following text message to the contact:
        [Your Account Name] has requested to send you text messages. Reply OK to give your express written consent. Text HELP for help.
        If the contact replies OK, they will be opted into the subscription.
      2. For Single Opt-In subscriptions, the contact will automatically opt into the subscription.
