TrueDialog Integration

System Administrator Permissions Required

Contact your system administrator for assistance if you can’t complete these instructions.

After the TrueDialog integration is installed, your existing records must have the Formatted Phone Number field filled in before the record can send and receive messages using TrueDialog.

Standard Object Type Records

If you use one of the Standard Object types (Contacts, Leads, Accounts, Opportunities, or Campaigns), the Formatted Phone Number field for these records can be filled in using the TrueDialog Settings utility. The Standard Objects with No Connectors section of the Salesforce – Using TrueDialog Settings Utility article will show you how to use the utility to fill in the Formatted Phone Number.

If you create a new record for a Standard Object, the Formatted Phone Number field will automatically be filled in when you save the record. See the Salesforce – Creating a Contact Record article for details about creating a new record.

Custom Object Type Records

If you use a custom object type, you will need to connect the phone field of that object to TrueDialog by following the instructions in the Salesforce – Using a Custom Field or Object With TrueDialog article. Once connected, use the Objects with connectors section of the TrueDialog Settings utility to format the phone number for messaging with TrueDialog. See the Objects with connectors section of the Salesforce – Using TrueDialog Settings Utility article for instructions.

Page Layout

Once you have filled in the Formatted Phone Number field, you can customize your page layout to include the Formatted Phone Number and SMS Opt Out fields and add the TrueDialog Messenger by following the instructions in the articles below.
