Salesforce – Enabling Mobile App SMS Notifications

Contact your system administrator for assistance if you can’t complete these instructions.

This article explains how to enable notifications on the Salesforce Android and iPhone apps for incoming SMS messages.

  1. Click the Settings Gear icon to open the settings menu.
  2. Click Setup.

  3. Enter custom notifications in the search box.
  4. Click Custom Notifications under the Notification Builder section.

  5. Verify that Notify Sender And Record Owner exists.

  6. If Notify Sender And Record Owner doesn’t exist, create it by following the steps below.
    1. Click New.
    2. Enter Notify Sender And Record Owner in the Custom Notification Name textbox.
    3. Enter Notify_Sender_And_Record_Owner in the API Name textbox.
    4. Check the Desktop and Mobile checkboxes for Supported Channels.
    5. Click Save.
      Click Save
  7. Enter notification delivery in the search box.
  8. Click Notification Delivery Settings under the Notification Builder section.

  9. Scroll down to the Custom Notification Types section.
  10. Click the Down Arrow button at the right of the Notify Sender And Record Owner notification type.
  11. Click Edit.
    Click Edit
  12. Check the Salesforce for iOS and Salesforce for Android checkboxes.
  13. Click Save.
    Click Save
  14. Salesforce for iOS, Salesforce for Android will now be displayed under Mobile Apps for Notify Sender And Record Owner.
